OUR HISTORY
Waist Beads originated in Nigeria and soon the tradition advanced in different African cultures. Waist beads are worn as a status symbol in African culture. They are essential to one’s self-healing journey and are worn for femininity, enhancing self-adornment, weight tracking, and many other reasons. Waist Beads are also known to accentuate the shaping of a woman’s waist and hips. As some African cultures present that waist beads should only be seen by your significant other and worn under clothing, other African tribes/cultures openly embrace them with a different perspective.
